主题一 新浪潮
Theme 1 Nouvelle Vague
位置：麓客岛儿童游乐区南侧斜坡上；面积约108平米（约18X6米）；基地范围内树木可后期移植，可不做设计考虑
Location: South slope of the LUXES' Island children's play area. The area is about 108 sqaure meters (about 18X6m); Trees within the site can be transplanted later and need no designer considerations
该区域靠近登岛位置，紧邻儿童游乐区；区域人流量较大，视线由上至下可以俯瞰儿童游乐区，是人们主要等候儿童游玩、休憩、停留的场所之一；根据“新浪潮”这一主题，期待设计师可跨界至电影表达或与音乐/声音相关的互动
Expectation: The area is near the pier of LUXES’ Island and adjacent to the children's play area; The area has a large flow of people and the sight overlooks the children's play area, which makes it one of the places where people mainly wait for children to play, rest and stay. Under the theme of "Nouvelle Vague", designers are expected to cross over into film expression or sound-related interaction

关于新浪潮
About Nouvelle Vague
Vague源自法语“波浪”，此处暗喻麓湖的水面。同时它也指代新浪潮电影和新浪潮音乐。新浪潮电影，来自法语La Nouvelle Vague，意为“新的波浪”的意思，特指从上世纪50年代末在法国发生的一场电影运动，后来“新浪潮”一词被广泛用于其他电影史上其他国家在二战之后兴起的新兴电影运动。音乐方面，一支叫Nouvelle Vague的法国乐队以21世纪的音乐趣味和生活方式，将上个世纪80年代的英美两地的新浪潮摇滚乐队的名曲翻了一遍。
"Vague" is a French word for "wave", a metaphor for the waves of LUXELAKES. It also refers to the film movement and a music genre. Nouvelle Vague, meaning "new wave", refers to a film movement that took place in France in the late 1950s. Since then, the term " Nouvelle Vague " has been widely used in the film history of other emerging film movements in other countries after world war Ⅱ. In terms of music, a French band called Nouvelle Vague has covered the music of the New Wave rock band of the 1980s in the United Kingdom and the United States with a taste for music and lifestyle in the 21st century.

Theme 2 Play Time
位置：麓客岛入口坡地；区域面积约144平米（约12X12米）；基地范围内树木可后期移植，可不做设计考虑
Location: the entrance grass slope of LUXES’ Island; the area is around 144 square meters (about 12X12m); Trees within the site can be transplanted later and need no designer considerations
期待：位于麓客岛最佳景观面之一，坡地可远望湖面和行船，场地开阔；期待通过结合灯光艺术、具有趣味性和互动性的公共座椅设计重新定义“PLAY TIME”——游乐场不仅属于孩子，也是成年人可以自由玩乐和放松的天地
Expectation: it has one of the best outlooks on LUXES’ Island, with a slope that is wide open and overlooking the lake and sailing boats. It is expected that, through the playful and interactive public seating design which is combined with illumination, "PLAY TIME" can be redefined—playgrounds are not only for children, but also for adults to have fun and relax

About Play Time
《玩乐时间》（Play Time）是法国导演雅克·塔蒂（Jacques Tati）在1967年拍摄的喜剧电影。当时基本已经摆脱了战争阴影的巴黎，正举办世界博览会，法国人于洛来到超级现代化的巴黎，体会到一个钢筋玻璃世界的冷酷。这个非人化的场景故意在摄影棚里搭建，真正的巴黎建筑只出现在玻璃的反照中。《玩乐时光》建造的这座城市浓缩了当时巴黎崭新的、简洁标准又千篇一律的现代主义城市景观，和人们缺乏惊喜的生活方式——这也使得片名“Play Time”更为值得玩味。
Play Time is a 1967 comedy film by the French director Jacques Tati. At that time, Paris, which had basically got rid of the shadow of the war, was holding the world exposition. French Hulot came to the ultra-modern Paris and experienced the hardness of a steel and glass world. This dehumanizing scene is deliberately set up in a studio, where the real Paris buildings are reflected only in glasses. "Play Time" builds a city that encapsulates the new, clean, standard, cookie-cutter, modernist cityscape of Paris at the time, as well as the lack of surprises of people’s lifestyle—which makes the title "Play Time" all the more interesting.

主题三 盗梦空间
Theme 3 Inception
位置：麓客岛南坡草坪北侧小树林；区域面积约180平米（约18X10米）；可结合周围树木进行设计
Location: woods on the north side of the South Lawn of LUXES’ Island; the area is around 180 square meters (about 18X10m); Design can be combined with the surrounding trees
期待：密集的树木营造出自然狭小的空间，与南坡草坪的开敞形成强烈对比，穿行其中，移步换景，期待打造有趣又可互动的林中休憩场景，以及超脱于日常生活、如梦似幻的体验感
Expectation: the dense trees create natural narrow spaces, which forms a strong contrast with the open lawn on the south slope. The scene changes as people walk through and it is expected to creating an fun and interactive rest place in the middle of the forest, as well as a dreamy sense of detachment from everyday life

About Inception
影片剧情游走于梦境与现实之间，被定义为“发生在意识结构内的当代动作科幻片”。影片讲述由莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥扮演的造梦师，带领约瑟夫·高登-莱维特、艾伦·佩吉扮演的特工团队，进入他人梦境，从他人的潜意识中盗取机密，并重塑他人梦境的故事。
The plot moves between dreams and reality and is defined as "a contemporary action sci-fi film that takes place within the structure of consciousness".The film tells the story of a dreammaker played by leonardo dicaprio, who leads a team of secret agents played by Joseph gordon-levitt and Alan page to enter other people's dreams, steal secrets from their subconscious, and reconstruct their dreams.
盗梦空间，2010 / Inception, 2010
《盗梦空间》源自于导演克里斯托弗·诺兰的一个关于“借由进入和分享梦境空间探索人的想法。赋予你能力进入某人的潜意识，你将会如何运用？”的概念。诺兰编写本片剧本时灵感来自豪尔赫·路易斯·博尔赫斯的著作，并且被认为受到日本已故动画大师今敏2006年的《红辣椒》影响。
Inception came from director Christopher Nolan's idea of "exploring people’s ideas by entering and sharing the dreams—Given the ability to tap into someone's subconscious, how would you use it?" The concept was inspired by the writings of Jorge Luis Borges and is thought to have been influenced by the late Japanese animator Satoshi Kon's 2006 film "Paprika".

Chief architect and co-founder of Wutopia Lab, co-founder of Let's Talk, Urban Humble Space Revival Plan and FA emerging architect award; Professor level senior engineer, received Bachelor of architecture from Tsinghua University and Ph.D of architectural design and theory from Tongji University.
Wutopia lab, as a cutting edge architecture studio, is aiming to create miracles in daily life based on GLOCALIZATION, and its design have been recognized by a number of prestigious international design awards, they were selected as Architectural Record Vanguard Firm 2018, HD-Wave of the Future Honorees 2019, Archdaily China Building of the year’18 Top Three. 吴迪
吴迪（Lyla Wu）是一位创客、建筑师、设计师、艺术策展人和教育家。曾就读于新加坡国立大学、香港中文大学、南加州建筑学院和维也纳实用美术大学。毕业后供职于香港张志强事务所、凯达环球、美国的格雷戈•林恩（Greg Lynn Form）和德国的格拉夫特（Graft）等知名建筑设计公司。作为一名教育家，目前于同济大学担任客座教授，长期行走在中国数字设计和数字智造的研究及教育的前沿。2015年，吴迪在上海创立了创新实验室 Neuni_lab，一个集合数字设计、数字智造、联合办公、创新教育、品牌孵化和商业销售的一体化空间。2016年，吴迪和法国MateriO新材料平台合作，在上海创立了MateriO中国，成为中国第一个专注全球新材料培训，孵化和交易的创新平台。
Lyla Wu
Lyla is at the same time a maker, an architect, a designer, an art curator and an educator. She studied at the National University of Singapore, Chinese University Hong Kong, the Southern California Institute of Architecture and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. After graduation Lyla went to work for AEDAS in China, Greg Lynn Form in USA, Graft in Germany and other well-known architectural and design companies internationally. As an educator, Lyla is currently serving as a visiting professor at Tongji University, always in the forefront of research and education in digital design and digital fabrication. In 2015, Lyla founded Neuni_lab, a workspace that combine innovation and prototyping in a laboratory environment, providing experimentation and integration of digital design, digital fabrication, co-working space, creative education, brand incubation and commercialization. In 2016, Lyla obtained exclusive right to collaborate with MateriO and founded Neuni Materio China in Shanghai, thereby becoming the first world-class Chinese platform that provide training, incubation and trading of innovative materials.

Work Submit
1、须提交A1纵向图纸一页，设计文本一份（PDF格式，中英双语），如有最终设计效果展示视频可作为加分项提供；
2、提交文件须清晰可读，应包含：
（1）简短说明文字：中英双语，分别不超过200字（标注除外），含作品基本介绍及必要技术信息；
（2）设计图：包括但不限于：设计概念意向说明，概念草图及概念分析图、座椅设计效果图、必要的平立剖图（1:100或1:50）、轴测或透视图、设计材料选择及工艺必要说明及分析图；
3、作品提交语言：中英双语；
4、作品提交截止日期为2020年8月24日23:59分；作品评选日期为8月24日至9月7日；
5、资料发送至 a8dc@a8dc.cn，邮件名注明：公共座椅竞赛方案提交+作者/事务所名称；
6、询问：a8dc@a8dc.cn
1. One page of A1 longitudinal drawing and one copy of design text (PDF format, Chinese and English) shall be submitted. If there is a video showing the final design effect, it can be provided as bonus points;

每个竞赛主题，分别设置一等奖1名，二等奖2名，三等奖8名：
一等奖：奖金各30,000元人民币（税前），作品落地机会
二等奖：奖金各8,000元人民币（税前）
三等奖：奖金各800元人民币（税前）
For each theme, there will be 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 8 third prizes respectively:
First prize: RMB 30,000 each (before tax), plus the chance of realization
Second Prize: RMB 8,000 each (before tax)

A8设计中心依托成都麓湖水城，关注年青设计师成长。通过寻找挖掘麓湖内有趣或有研究意义的命题，启动讲座沙龙、教育合作、设计师招募、竞赛及设计展览等系列活动。作为设计文化平台，A8设计中心通过整合上下游产业链，为年青设计师群体寻求更多展示机会，推动设计产业发展 。
A8 Design Center is located at Chengdu LUXELAKES Water City and focuses on the growth of young designers. By looking for interesting or significant research topics in LUXELAKES, a series of activities such as lecture, salon, education cooperation, designer open call, competition and design exhibition are launched. As a design culture platform, A8 Design Center seeks to provide more display opportunities for young designers and promotes the development of design industry by integrating upstream and downstream industry chains.
